About Me

I am a Colorado native, raised here in the 60’s and 70’s when Denver was still a small city and the traffic was less challenging! After high school, I traveled east to study at Harvard University, where I received my B.A. in history in 1983. After college, I taught European and American history to high-school students for two years prior to returning to Denver for my medical education.

I earned my M.D. at the University of Colorado in 1992 and continued there as an Intern and Resident in the Department of Psychiatry, receiving awards for teaching and clinical service. For 20 years, I have had a lot of fun teaching clinical skills to medical students and presenting to many groups on a variety of psychiatric topics.

I have been licensed as a Colorado physician continuously since 1994, and The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has certified me since 1998.
